History
Over 50 Years in the Making
Rolling Meadows was incorporated in 1955, and, although Rolling Meadows is a fairly young city, it has grown to become one of the most vital business centers in the Northwest suburbs, and it is now home to more than 25,000 people.
The Rolling Meadows Historical Museum was constructed as a replica of an original 1950s-era Kimball Hill Home. The Historic House is filled with authentic furnishings, appliances and memorabilia that adorned local homes in the days when the city was first founded.
In its first year of operation, the Museum was awarded the Illinois Association of Museums Superior Achievement Award. The museum is managed by the Rolling Meadows Historical Society and staffed by local volunteers.
Rolling Meadows has grown tremendously since it was first established, and it is looking forward to a future as equally extraordinary and dynamic as its past. The residents encompass a deep sense of community and tradition of excellence.
