Rolling Meadows residents are fortunate to be served by an award-winning health system. Right next door, in Arlington Heights, is the award-winning Northwest Community Hospital (NCH) campus. NCH has been a part of the community for more than 50 years and continues to serve the growing healthcare needs of the northwest suburbs through outstanding patient care, quality services, advanced technology and modern amenities.

Over the last few years, the hospital has seen much in the way of new development, with the addition of the Busse Center for Specialty Center in 2003 and, most recently, with the launch of its $250 million redevelopment project in July 2007. Included in this latest endeavor is the addition of the nearly 250,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art South Pavilion, which opened its doors on May 1, 2010.

The nine-story South Pavilion brings NCH’s licensed bed count to 488 and features 200 private patient rooms, the Level II Trauma Center and Emergency Department, an additional Critical Care Unit, expanded maternity services and surgical and cancer units. It is designed with the environment in mind, as its elements were created to meet the standards of LEED’s Silver Certification.

As the hospital’s infrastructure continues to be modernized, so does its list of high quality services and programs. NCH is a designated Primary Stroke Center, is recognized as one of the nation’s top heart hospitals (Thomson Reuters, 2009) and has earned HealthGrades Excellence Awards in 2010 in the areas of cardiac, stroke, women’s health and gastroenterology care. Additional fields NCH is widely recognized for include cancer care, pancreatic disease, orthopedics, critical care, complex surgeries and more.

Supplementing NCH’s major healthcare presence are numerous physicians and specialists offering a wide range of services to patients young and old.
