services are centralized, including the Village Hall, Police Department
and Fire Department, on Prospect Street between Main Street and Maple.
The Village has a Mayor-Trustee form of government. The board is comprised
of eight officials - the Mayor, six Trustees and the Village Clerk. Village
Board meetings are held the second and fourth Mondays of each month at
8:00 pm at the Village Hall.
The foundation of the Roselle Police Department is the philosophy of Community Oriented Policing (COP), which means community members and police officers form partnerships to identify problems and work together toward solutions. This proactive approach includes Neighborhood Watch and Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) programs. Roselle has an Enhanced 911 (E-911) system, which enables 911 operators to identify the location of the caller, and Reverse 911, which allows for quick communication with residents about urgent matters.
Established in 1905, the Roselle Fire Department serves the community through Fire Suppression, Fire Prevention and Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Its fire prevention services include inspections, fire safety and its EDITH (Exit-Drills-in-the-Home) program. The EMS staffs paramedics who not only respond to emergency calls, but teach CPR to various groups and provide free blood pressure screening through the Elderly Assistance Program.
