Welcome to Sandwich, a community that we are proud to call home. If you are visiting Sandwich for the first time, or have recently relocated to Sandwich, you have chosen a warm and friendly town.
Sandwich attracts new businesses and residents each year because you find the warmth of friends, family and belonging here. Residents take great pride in landscaping and the maintenance of their private property, as well as community property. This shows through the countless hours of volunteer effort on community projects, ensuring that Sandwich is a place with a truly hometown atmosphere.
Our generous business owners work together, developing a strong economic climate for the community. Through their support, our community maintains a very active Chamber of Commerce.
Sandwich is centrally located 60 miles west of Chicago and provides industry with a well-balanced network of ground transportation corridors. Route 34 runs through Sandwich, with I-80 just 20 miles south and I-88 just 20 miles north of town.
The eastern end of Sandwich continues to grow with the addition of our first hotel and convention center. We are excited to announce that, in the coming year, there will be an indoor/outdoor water park opening, bringing additional visitors and residents to our community.
Additionally, the Sandwich Antiques Fairs during the summer and our world-famous DeKalb County Fair, or as we call it “The Sandwich Fair,” always held the first Wednesday through Sunday after Labor Day, annually attracts thousands of people to our community.
Please enjoy your look at our community, you will soon learn why we love Sandwich, our hometown.
