Parks and Recreation
Various recreational opportunities are available for all ages.
Passive and active recreation is provided through a combination of neighborhood tot lots, larger community parks with ball fields showcased in our 45-acre Four Seasons community park, and the 390-acre Hammel Woods Forest Preserve.
Natural wooded settings along the DuPage River speak to the resort heritage of Shorewood and lend themselves to a variety of recreational activities including, hiking, fishing, canoeing, cross-country skiing, biking, and picnicking under the majestic oaks.
Shorewood is part of the Regional DuPage River Bike Trail, which is in the development process.
Organized team sports include youth soccer, baseball, softball, and football.
Three public golf courses are located within five minutes of the village. Shorewood stands committed to the further development of recreational facilities for our residents.
