Delnor-Community Hospital
Delnor-Community Hospital is a leader in Fox Valley in providing comprehensive, cutting-edge medicine within a culture that also fosters some of the highest customer satisfaction scores in the nation. The hospital has achieved Magnet Nursing Designation, the American Nurses’ Association’s highest honor for nursing excellence. Delnor is the first non-academic medical center in Illinois and one of a little over 100 hospitals nationwide who have earned the right to be called Magnet.
As a Level II Trauma Center, Delnor’s Emergency Department offers the expertise and resources to treat people with severe or life-threatening illnesses and injuries. That same level of service is also available for children as part of Delnor’s state designation as an Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics. Housed in a new state-of-the-art 28,500 square foot facility, the Emergency Department offers all private rooms including 19 standard care rooms, two trauma rooms, and six minor care rooms. The unit also includes a dedicated radiology suite so emergency patients do not have to leave the unit for x-rays.
Connected directly to the Emergency Department is Delnor’s dedicated Cardiac Catheterization lab, a premier facility in the far west suburbs. Utilizing the Philips Integris Allura Imaging System with Dynamic Flat Detector technology, physicians are able to evaluate and treat critical cardiac blockages faster and more accurately while exposing patients to far less radiation.
Delnor was one of the first hospitals in Northern Illinois to have this technology. Delnor cardiac cath patients are experiencing an average “door to balloon” time of around 60 minutes, far beating the 90-minute national goal.
Delnor’s NewLife® Maternity Center is undergoing a major transformation with the building of an additional wing. The new wing will provide all new families a private suite with all the amenities of a fine hotel. The Level II with Extended Capabilities Nursery is equipped to care for low birth weight infants, premature infants, and infants on ventilators. Delnor’s neonatalogists are available 24 hours a day. The center also offers maternal-fetal medicine services for women experiencing high-risk pregnancies, including multiple births, and 24-hour obstetric physician coverage in the event of an emergency.
Revolutionary technology, privacy, peace of mind, and answers – that’s what women will find at the Women’s Imaging Center of Delnor. The center offers digital mammography, the most technologically advanced equipment for the early detection of breast abnormalities. For the woman needing a diagnostic mammogram (instead of the yearly screening mammogram) because an abnormality has been felt or seen, Delnor offers a dedicated radiologist who will read the mammogram immediately. The woman will know the results before she leaves the center.
Delnor’s Community Education offers a wide variety of educational programs, screenings, and support groups to help individuals maintain their good health or manage a diagnosis. And the hospital’s medical staff features some of the region’s finest physicians in a wide range of specialties. To assist area residents in finding the right physician, Delnor offers a free Physician Finder service at (630) 208-3993.
Delnor-Community Hospital is part of Delnor-Community Health Systems, which provides a broad range of healthcare and wellness services for the community. Other components of the system include the Delnor-Community Health & Wellness Center, one of the area’s premier medically-based fitness facilities; Delnor Glen, an assisted living facility; and the Townhomes of Delnor Glen, independent living for seniors.

Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center
Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center is uniquely qualified to address the needs of its patients. VASC has over 160 area surgeons on staff and furnishes surgical services for more than 1,000 different procedures for both outpatient and more complex surgeries, which require a stay at Valley Medical Inn. VASC provides surgical services in Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Ear/Nose/Throat, General Surgery, Podiatry, Urology, Pediatric Surgery, Gastroenterology, Orthopedic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Oral Surgery and Dentistry.
The rapid growth of VASC is partly due to the advances in medicine. Now, most surgical procedures which previously involved a hospital stay are performed in an outpatient setting for about half the cost. But VASC also grew and prospered because of the beliefs that its founding members had about what healthcare should be. At VASC each patient is treated in a professional and courteous manner, and the staff is dedicated to excellence in patient care.
Since Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center is committed to quality medical care, it is consistently utilized as a training forum to introduce advanced technology and procedures to area surgeons on staff. VASC enjoys an excellent reputation among doctors and patients alike, receiving consistently high remarks from patient satisfaction surveys. Arthur Anderson awarded Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center and Valley Medical Inn its Best Practices Award in 1998 in the “Exceeding Customer Expectations” category.
Valley Medical Inn, a post-surgical recovery care center adjacent to Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center, was opened in 1997. This nine-bed facility offers an alternative to hospitalization for patients needing additional time to recover from surgery. Stays can be as short as 23 hours or as long as 72 hours. The “Bed and Breakfast” atmosphere of VMI provides the patient with the best quality medical care in a more relaxed environment.
Private nursing care, catered meals, and hotel quality amenities serve to reduce the patient’s stress and speed recovery. For more information on Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center and Valley Medical Inn, please call (630) 584-9800 or visit our website at www.valleyambulatory.com.
