Healthcare

One of the greatest strengths of the Sauk Valley Area is the quality healthcare network created by the Sterling Rock Falls Clinic, CGH Medical Center, KSB Hospital and numerous other support and service agencies.

CGH Medical Center has been a community hospital for Sterling and Rock Falls for nearly 100 years. A Board of Directors governs the hospital, which is owned by the City of Sterling. Providing top-notch healthcare for Sauk Valley Area residents means creating a workplace environment fostering teamwork, communication, innovation, initiative and professional development among their more than 900 employees. State-of-the-art technology, a positive environment and visionary leadership are rooted in a philosophy of providing superior patient care for our community.

Following a major expansion completed in the spring of 2008, a new suite of surgical rooms can now accommodate more advanced procedures. A new Obstetrics Department and Birthing Center offers innovative technology, advanced security and private rooms. These additions, along with a new Critical Care Unit, expanded space for Diagnostic Imaging and physician services and a new helicopter pad, allow CGH Medical Center to provide superior patient care. Other services provided by the hospital include Home Nursing & Home Infusion, a Digestive Disease Center, state-of-the-art heart services and a cardiac cath lab.

CGH Medical Center

CGH Medical Center’s 114 physicians specialize in 35 areas of expertise and have enabled the facility to be rated one of the highest in the country in terms of employee satisfaction. As the facility continues to grow, they will continue to “Embrace the Power of Change” to better serve Sterling, Rock Falls and the surrounding communities.

Founded in 1953, the Sterling Rock Falls Clinic pledged to provide the best healthcare possible, using the latest and most modern equipment and technology offered by the most highly trained and skilled family of healthcare professionals available. Today, the clinic offers health care services in more than 29 specialties at six different clinics including the Rock Falls, Dixon and Morrison Clinics. New offerings available to area residents as a result of a $13 million expansion include nuclear medicine, LASIK eye surgery, digital mammography and an open MRI. With a clinic staff of more than 400, this is one of the largest medical clinics in northwestern Illinois. Physicians and staff are committed to helping ensure the availability of services for years to come.

In addition to the CGH Medical Center and Sterling Rock Falls Clinic, Dixon’s KSB Hospital has been in operation for more than 100 years and provides skilled, compassionate healthcare in a facility equipped with the latest technology. This 80-bed acute care facility offers a variety of ancillary services from obstetrics to behavioral healthcare and cardiac rehabilitation. KSB offers programs that reflect its desire to remain focused on the health of its community.

KSB Hospital

In the past few decades, the hospital completed a number of new departments that reflected the advances taking place nationwide in medical care throughout the years. Recently, KSB Hospital completed a two-level, 360-space parking deck for its patients, visitors and employees. This structure was built to accommodate the growing need for parking from the hospital community. KSB Hospital remains a healthcare facility that meets the medical needs of the Sauk Valley in northwestern Illinois, consistently growing and advancing with new medical procedures and technology.

Additional home and healthcare service businesses in the Sauk Valley Area include Hospice of the Rock River Valley, which holds professional memberships with both the Illinois and National Hospice and Palliative Care organizations; Heartland Health Services, which is a major homecare provider to residents needing special at-home care or companionship needs; the Home of Hope, a free of charge organization that offers assistance to individuals living with cancer and their families; and the Northern Illinois Cancer Treatment Center, which offers the latest comprehensive cancer treatment technology, delivered in a welcoming, comfortable and friendly environment.
