Shop Sterling and Rock Falls for all your needs and desires. The downtown areas offer a diverse selection of stores, from hardware to furniture, computers to office supplies, home-baked doggie treats to freshly baked pastries and women’s wear to accessories. Books, flowers, food and movies are all available within walking distance of your parking spot. Most of these businesses are locally owned and offer superb customer service. Many local businesses, as well as a Wal-Mart Distribution Center, are close to the I-88 interchange.

Northland Mall features JCPenney, Bergner’s and more than 20 specialty stores and services. Conveniently located in the heart of Sterling at 2900 E. Lincolnway, the mall offers some of the best shopping in the area. Additional large retailers are also located just east of the mall on Route 2, including Staples, Menards, Wal-Mart Super Center and Farm & Fleet.

Groceries are available at a number of different food stores. Locally grown, fresh produce can be found at the Rock Falls Farmers Market outside on 2nd Street on Wednesday and Saturday mornings during the summer and early fall. It is indoor at the Twin City Market at 2nd Street and Avenue A in Sterling on Saturday mornings year-round and on Wednesday evenings during the summer months.

The presence of locally owned and national retailers means residents and visitors to the Sauk Valley don’t have to travel far to fulfill their shopping needs.
