Streeterville’s Magnificent Mile contains some of the best shopping in the world.
Ranging from well-known chains to posh boutiques, people come from all over the world to experience Michigan Avenue’s grandeur and multiplicity of choices such as Nordstrom, Westfield, North Bridge, the 900 Shops and Room & Board.
The Magnificent Mile in Streeterville encompasses the 900 Shops, a 450,000 square foot vertical shopping mall at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Oak Street. Bloomingdale’s is the center’s main department store along with more than 70 specialty stores including Gucci, Coach and Mark Shale.
Water Tower Place is another shopping hot spot, offering shoppers an indoor shopping mall, consisting of upscale department stores and boutiques. The seven floors of the historic Water Tower Place offers such stores as Abercrombie & Fitch, Bebe, Godiva Chocolatier, Movado, Sephora and the Sharper Image.
Only one block away from the Magnificent Mile is the American Girl Place. Here, fans of the famed American Girl books can search through the original, as well as contemporary dolls, read books, or even take a seat at the American Girl Theater to watch The American Girls Revue or Bitty Bear’s Matinee: The Family Tree. Shoppers can stop at the American Girl Café for brunch, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner. Tables are even equipped with a seat for an American Girl doll.
