
Streeterville is a veritable brain trust for North America. The area boasts some of the country’s top medical and business schools as well as a diverse range of graduate school programs.
Streeterville is home to Northwestern University’s Chicago campus, The University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business downtown campus and Loyola University’s Graduate Downtown Campus. The Institute Cervantes of Chicago is also located in Streeterville.
Streeterville’s educational opportunities begin at the earliest age and continue on through advanced degree programs offered by multiple universities well situated within the neighborhood. Downtown Children’s Learning Place is a licensed child care facility offering children ages six weeks to six years old, a well-rounded educational experience.
Beginning with age-appropriate environments that encourage children to learn, play and explore, Downtown Children’s Learning Place focuses on the growth of the mind, spirit and body via music, art, show and tell, circle time, science projects, math, reading, field trips, exercise, dance, tumbling and gymnastics, swimming, pageants, holiday parties, and annual events.
Ogden Elementary School, located blocks from Streeterville, has been serving the area since 1857. Ogden Elementary is a participant in the International Baccalaureate Program (I.B.), which was developed to provide standardized quality education that is recognized worldwide. The school also offers free after-school programs, such as a Japanese language and culture class, one-on-one basketball training, a drawing and cartooning class and a Spanish class, as well as artroom classes and an annual exhibit of students’ artwork.
Northwestern’s Chicago campus, located in Streeterville, includes the Feinberg School of Medicine, the School of Law and the School of Continuing Studies. The medical school’s primary teaching hospital is Northwestern Memorial Hospital, also located in the area. The University of Chicago’s Streeterville campus is home to the Graduate School of Business and Graham School of General Studies.
Loyola University Chicago’s campus at the Water Tower offers the Graduate School of Business, School of Education, School of Law, School of Professional Studies and the School of Social Work. Loyola University is nationally recognized as a premier university and one of the best Jesuit institutions in the country.
