Tinley Park Chamber Mission The Tinley Park Chamber of Commerce is committed to bringing innovative opportunities to businesses and the community to create a strong economy.

Business in Tinley Park Tinley Park is the “Business Location of Choice in Illinois”—where plans turn into profits. Located 25 miles from downtown Chicago, Tinley Park is one of the fastest growing cities in the Midwest. With a population over 60,000, the community is strategically located in the center of the dynamic Interstate 80 Corridor, allowing businesses to take advantage of a regional population of 9 million people.

In 2006, Tinley Park Economic Development received high honors for its efforts when the Commerce Department announced the organization as the winner of the 2006 Excellence in Economic Development Award for urban or suburban economic development. The award recognizes Tinley Park’s commitment to sound, research-based, market driven economic development in helping to strengthen the local economy.

The Village’s Economic Development Plan for Success was named a Silver Award Winner of the National League of Cities 2007 Award for Municipal Excellence for towns with populations between 50,001 and 150,000. The Village was one of only eight towns nationwide to receive the NLC award this year.

Referrals: Referrals directed right to your business! Each week the Chamber receives hundreds of phone calls asking for referrals and information on Tinley Park businesses and organizations. Only Chamber Members are referred.

Web Presence: www.tinleychamber.org The Tinley Park Chamber website offers a free listing in the Member Directory, banner advertising, free e-mail link, free URL link, 24-hour coded access, online registration, job posting capabilities, hot deal promotions and e-mail reminder services for all Chamber events and programs. A new chamber blog was started in 2008.

Publications: • Newsletter (Print and Online)—Each month over 500 businesses and community leaders receive a copy of the Tinley Park Chamber Newsletter, which includes a calendar of events, member highlights and community updates. • Mailbag—Let the Chamber do the work for you! Members can create and print a flyer that will be included in the monthly chamber mailing to over 500 businesses. • Tinley Park Chamber of Commerce Cable Television Program: Members are invited to be a guest on the Tinley Park Chamber of Commerce Cable Television Program. This show, sponsored by the Chamber, is offered to members in good standing and can be seen Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. on channel 19, the local cable network in Tinley Park.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies: Meet key leaders and fellow business associates in Tinley Park. The Chamber will help a business with promotion, set-up and public relations for this event, as well as provide ceremonial scissors and commemorative ribbon. The Chamber will also provide business owners with a dated and signed certificate recognizing the ceremony, contact Village Officials, invite local media, compose press releases and take a picture of the event to provide to the local media.

Small Business Assistance: Both the Chamber and the Village of Tinley Park recognize the positive economic impact that small businesses have on a community such as ours. There are a number of programs available to assist new and existing businesses in Tinley Park. • The Low Interest Business Development Loan Program—A public/private partnership between the Village and local participating banks. It is designed to enable local businesses to obtain low cost financing for capital improvements to help grow their businesses. The project must result in either an increase in local tax revenues or an increase in employment opportunities within the Village. • The Economic Commercial Commission—Promotes the “Shop Tinley” theme through various campaigns.
