The region’s largest new shopping center is here in Tinley Park. Brookside Marketplace at 191st Street and Harlem Avenue has several large anchor stores including a Super Target, Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Michael’s, Kohls and Office Max. Brookside Marketplace is a draw for shoppers from other south suburban communities and gives them the power of convenient shopping. Other large retail outlets are along the western and northern edges of town, keeping neighborhood streets peaceful and free of traffic.
One of the newest shopping areas is Park Hills Town Centre, at 171st Street and LaGrange Road. It is anchored by a Plass Appliance and Electric store and CVS Pharmacy, and future plans also call for a bank, two restaurants and additional retail.
Neighborhood strip malls offer convenience to residents who live nearby. These include Park Place, Tinley Park Plaza, Park Center, Brementowne Mall and the Historical Oak Park Avenue area. The town also has large grocery stores, a wealth of service-related businesses like florists, real estate and insurance agencies, legal and financial offices, and banks. Outstanding auto dealerships line 159th Street, making buying a car an easy task.
Sister-city Orland Park also contains a plethora of consumer havens. Orland Square is a trendy shopping mall featuring anchors such as JC Penney, Macy’s, Carsons and Sears as well as hip fashionable boutiques and specialty stores.
