A city of approximately 13,167 people, Washington has successfully grown into a progressive community while preserving its rich heritage. The Greater Peoria Regional Airport, just minutes away, is the largest downstate airport for passengers and cargo. Scheduled passenger service is available through five airlines with 48 commercial flights daily.
Washington is served by a railroad that provides piggyback and container packaging and transportation services. Being close to a major river has the advantage of five individual barge lines offering shipment of containers and bulk materials. Many Interstate Commerce Commission- approved trucking companies serve local businesses with numerous terminals throughout the area.
