Award-winning public school systems provide superb programs and facilities for Zion area students, and parents contribute the volunteer and economic support necessary for exceptional education. Two public school systems serve Zion, along with several parochial and private schools in the area. Zion students have only a short distance to travel to reach several excellent institutions of higher learning. These include The College of Lake County, a two-year community college, and Shimer College. Zion's proximity to Chicago and Milwaukee also gives students access to many top colleges and universities in those cities.
