The breathtaking 1929 Paramount Theatre Centre & Ballroom is one of 12 remaining “atmospheric” theaters in the country — its blue ceiling (replete with stars) and the Moorish courtyard facades that surround the seats transport theatergoers to 16th-century Spain. At 6,000-square feet, the art-deco ballroom is the largest freestanding public room in Madison County. It also has dinner seating for 400. Live events — stage shows, plays, ballets and concerts — are held in this extraordinary piece of history.
The Anderson Symphony Orchestra is a proud assemblage of professional musicians. Maestro Richard Sowers has conducted the symphony since 1989. This orchestra performs in the beautiful Paramount Theatre.
