The Anderson Community School Corporation serves its students with a strong educational program, dedicated faculty and an array of extracurricular activities. There are 10 elementary schools, three middle schools and two high schools within the district. The other public school corporations in the county are Alexandria/Monroe, Elwood, Frankton, Lapel and South Madison School Corporation. Madison County also has several private schools.
Anderson is the location of several higher learning institutions, including Anderson University, Purdue University, Ivy Tech Community College and Indiana Business College. Several other universities and colleges are within 50 miles of Anderson – including Ball State University, Butler University, Community College of Indiana, Earlham College, Indiana Wesleyan University, International Business College, Martin University, Taylor University and University of Indianapolis.
