Cameron Memorial Hospital, a full-service 77,000-square-foot hospital, cares for the health of local residents and summer’s visitors with a recently expanded emergency room, cardiac and respiratory therapy, intensive care units, a birthing center, and a variety of specialized services such as audiology, cardiology, dermatology, oncology, and orthopedics. The hospital offers treatment for substance abuse and Home Health Care and Hospice programs, which make about 24,000 home visits annually.

Angola Urgent Care, an emergency medical facility handling non-life threatening injuries, Angola Industrial and Sports Medicine, and the Fremont Medical Center also provide health and wellness services to Steuben County.

Angola is governed by a mayor who is assisted by a city council composed of five council members, each representing a section of the city. A 911-community, Angola benefits from fully staffed police and fire departments, which serve and protect with professionally trained staff. On-call paramedics respond to emergency situations. Depending on the town, surrounding communities are served by either full-time police departments, the Steuben County Sheriff’s office, or full-time or volunteer firefighters.

The spiritual needs of residents and visitors are met by dozens of churches in the Angola area. People of more than 22 different faiths, including Baptist, Lutheran, Congregational, Catholic, Episcopal, non-denominational Christian, Methodist, and Baha’i, worship in Steuben County. Congregations build strong spiritual communities, which benefit not only church members, but the towns and villages in which they live.
