Downtowns Tower Tree Square caters to a more whimsical
niche, where private merchants offer costumes, crafts, music, Vera Bradley
and other collectibles, dolls, hardware oddities, home décor touches,
fabrics and specialty gifts. Theres even an old-fashioned department
store. Antiquing is almost a sport in Decatur County, as various shops
and flea markets line the main streets of Greensburg, Millhousen and Westport.
In all likelihood, youll find the perfect item in your travels without
even realizing there was a town on that spot of the map. The Northside Merchant Association, Independent Westport Area Business Association and St. Paul Merchants organizations ensure retailers live up to customers high standards. Dining options include nearly everything from fast-food chains to steakhouses, ice cream parlors, diners, coffeehouses (espressos and cappuccino are in high demand here), and delis. A majority are family-owned and operated; one historic location serves meals by appointment only and diners are never disappointed by the tales and red carpet treatment that accompanies their reservations. County restaurants earned their reputations for mouth-watering fried chicken, tenderloins and fresh baked pies as American an offering as Sunday lunch at Grandmas!
