graphic Culture is the spice of life, but it’s not always necessary to travel an hour or more to enjoy "big city" shows. The Decatur County Arts & Cultural Council seeks to make culture convenient for area residents by importing high-caliber performance professionals. Each year the council provides an art series that brings in operas, symphonies and plays for local residents’ enjoyment. For music lovers, there is the seasonal Music and Arts.

There are also opportunities to become directly involved with the performing arts. Tree County Players offers a forum for people with theatrical interests to develop their dramatic skills and present popular productions for the community’s enrichment. Thanks to these local thespians, area residents have been treated to such classics as Annie, Grease, South Pacific, Fiddler on the Roof, and many more.

Decatur County has its share of museums and special points of interest, including the unique Tree on Courthouse Tower Museum, the Carnegie Public Building and Round Barn on Moscow Road. The 1890 Center of U.S. Population, Glacier Site and a German Village at Millhousen attract visitors from all over Indiana. The Tree City Art Gallery has earned its place among the culturally aware also.

The Greensburg-Decatur County Library is state-of-the-art with Internet capabilities and an electronic reference desk. Several exciting adult and children’s programs provide a multimedia learning experience for life scholars of all ages.
