Kokomo Education
Howard County provides opportunities for excellent “lifelong” learning. It has been one of the established goals to not only provide the best education for the children of the area, but to be the state’s leader in integrating secondary, post secondary and adult education into seamless learning opportunities for all residents.
Five school corporations serve residents of Howard County, all operating Kindergarten through grade 12 systems. Each school corporation ensures academic excellence for the community’s children, with some of the schools receiving national awards. In addition, there are six parochial schools for families who prefer private education.
Indiana University, Purdue University and Ivy Tech State College are located in Kokomo, offering two- and four-year degrees, as well as some graduate studies. In addition, several more top-rate colleges and universities are within an easy driving distance from the community.
