Although tourism plays a major role in the economic viability of LaGrange County, many businesses and industries contribute to the financial growth and employment needs as well. Some of the area’s largest employers, with between 250 and 1,000 employees, include NISCO, a manufacturer of automobile sealing systems and decorative components based in Topeka. Redman Homes, producers of manufactured homes is also based in Topeka. In LaGrange, Dometic Corporation produces air conditioner units, both for the home and for installation on recreational vehicles. A neighboring industry Jayco, also located in LaGrange, manufactures recreational vehicles. Other top area employers include Fortune Home, Atwood and Skyline (LaGrange); Lakepark (Shipshewana); Multiplex and Vlasic (Howe); and Starcraft (Topeka).

Starcraft Marine produces a variety of boats and boating accessories from its plant in Topeka. Vlasic Pickle plant in Howe provides pickles for consumers nationwide. Other top employers for LaGrange County include Lakepark, Atwood, Skyline, and Multiplex.

With a labor force of more than 19,000 and an unemployment rate of 2.6 percent, LaGrange County has proved to be a wonderful place to do business.
