Shopping

graphicTourists flock to the area for the Shipshewana Auction and Flea Market, held every Tuesday and Wednesday from May through October. More than 1,000 vendors market antiques, home accessories, rugs, toys, games, collectibles, artworks, and hard-to-find treasures. The town of Shipshewana is a shoppers’ paradise, where scores of unique emporiums stock antiques, folk art, handmade quilts, Amish prints, Amish-crafted furniture, homemade jellies and jams, country collectibles, kids toys and books, and a whole lot more. Along Main Street in nearby Wolcottville, specialty stores and an antique mall attract those with a yen for something different. Topeka stores service residents needs, supplying them with auto parts, computers, flowers, groceries, gifts, hardware, and the latest books and videos. In Howe, a grocery store, three convenience stores, and a computer store provide everything from old-fashioned baked goods to state-of-the-art technology. Mongo is home to a general store and a half dozen craft shops. Floral shops, office supply stores, pharmacies, and hardware stores, located throughout the county, handle residents and businesses everyday needs.
