Educational Opportunities

The LaPorte Community School Corporation operates eight elementary schools (K-5), two middle schools and a high school. More than 6,400 students are enrolled in these schools.

Two parochial elementary schools in LaPorte provide alternatives to public schools. Each offers a quality education program with a foundation in religious faith.

La Lumiere School, a fully accredited coeducational boarding and day college preparatory school, is minutes north of LaPorte.

For higher education, Purdue University, Ivy Tech State College and Brown Mackie are within a 15 minute drive of LaPorte. The opportunity for career advancement is easily accessed, and many classes are offered in the evening to accommodate working people.

Several other major universities are a short distance from LaPorte – including the University of Notre Dame, St. Mary’s, Valparaiso University, and Indiana University-South Bend.
