

An atmosphere of educational teamwork has been developed in the Monticello schools. It is exemplified by fine school buildings and equipment, excellent programs, highly skilled instructors, interested parents, and students who are eager to learn.
Twin Lakes School Corporation serves Monticello and the communities of Idaville, Burnettsville and Yeoman. The corporation’s administrative headquarters is housed in the former South Grade School, a building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. From here are governed four elementary schools, a middle school and a high school.
White County Ivy Tech Instructional Center located in Monticello offers a variety of higher education options. Purdue University, a Big Ten school, is located within 30 miles of Monticello and offers courses in more than 200 majors.
The Monticello Union Township Library actively encourages education and promotion of the arts. The library has study, computer, and reading areas. The library provides books, services, and activities for all age groups.
A new initiative, Leadership White County will annually train leaders to be involved citizens by addressing community challenges and promoting leadership skills.
