In 2008, White County Memorial Hospital opened its doors at its new location located at 720 South Sixth St. The hospital’s relocation plan included updating nearly all diagnostic equipment as well as newly designed patient rooms.
The local hospital provides all major services and is staffed by qualified physicians and nurses trained in emergency medicine and trauma. The City of Monticello Fire Department operates advanced life-support equipped ambulances manned by EMTs, advanced EMTs and paramedics.
Many physicians, dentists and other medical specialists maintain offices in Monticello. There are two medical clinics offering a variety of services. Top-quality nursing homes and senior residential facilities are located in the community. White County Council on Aging, located in downtown Monticello, provides specialized services to senior citizens and families.
