airport

Monticello stands at the center of White and Carroll counties on the Tippecanoe River.

Interstate 65 is approximately 20 miles west of Monticello. This major interstate is accessible via U.S. Highway 24, which intersects with north-south U.S. Highway 421 and State Route 39 in Monticello.

The City of Monticello is ideally located approximately the same distance from two major metropolitan areas, Chicago, Illinois and Indianapolis, Indiana.

Celebrating over 50 years, White County Airport, south of the city, provides maintenance facilities and fuels for jet and prop-driven aircraft. In 2008, the airport completed construction on a new terminal.

The CSX, the Toledo Peoria & Western Railway and Burlington Northern Railroad serve local businesses with an international hub center on U.S. Highway 24. Monticello is located 80 miles from Burns Harbor in Portage, giving area firms access to world markets via the St. Lawrence Seaway.
