Location

The Borman Expressway (I-80/94) provides Munster residents and businesses a coast-to-coast route to anywhere in the country. Interstate 294 leads to northern states, Interstate 90 heads to Chicago, the Indiana Tollroad leads into the eastern states and Interstate 65 is the direct route to Indianapolis.

Chicago’s Midway Airport can be reached in less than an hour, and the Gary Municipal Airport is 10 miles east. Gary Municipal is utilized by corporate and private aircraft, and there are two smaller airports in Griffith and Lansing (Illinois), both located to the west of Munster. Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport is just over an hour north. Commuter buses and trains are available via the South Shore Transit Line. Indiana’s Burns International Harbor provides shipping to the world via the St. Lawrence Seaway.
