Serving as the cornerstone of healthcare services in New Castle-Henry County and surrounding areas is Henry County Hospital, an acute care 107-bed facility providing 24-hour emergency care, inpatient medical and surgical care, critical care, obstetrics, pediatrics, ambulatory care and surgery.
Their medical staff provides care in 28 different specialties, and their active and courtesy medical staff is 98 percent board certified/board eligible.
The Imaging Center at the Hospital features state-of-the-art CT and MRI services, and mobile PET services are available weekly.
Committed to patient safety, the hospital participates in the CMS/AHA national quality measurement program for heart failure, AMI (heart attack), surgical infection prevention and community acquired pneumonia. The nursing department received a 100 percent score from Indiana State Board of Health in 2006 and also was rated the highest for RN satisfaction among healthcare institutions nationwide in 2006 by Sperduto & Associates of Atlanta. And, Henry County Home Care received an "Award of Merit" for outstanding achievement in Home Health Quality Improvement by Health Care Excel, Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Indiana.

Henry County Health Department is one of 14 of the 94 Indiana counties to participate in the National Public Health Performance Standards Program assessing the performance of local health departments in their communities.
