The Perry County Memorial Hospital is located between Tell City and Cannelton on Highway 66. A $3.5 million addition was added in 1995 to house a new emergency room, out-patient surgery and specialist clinic areas, a physical therapy department, an admitting area and switchboard office.

The hospital's wide variety of services includes an intensive care unit, a medical/surgery floor, obstetric unit, 24 hour emergency room services, swing bed (skilled nursing services), Inn Care (respite care), Companion Care (in-home attendants and homemakers), outpatient specialist clinics, inpatient and outpatient physical therapy, laboratory services, cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation and the Wellness Connection (a community/industry wellness program). Home Health and Hospice care and services are also available to patients who are in need of care after discharge from the hospital or individuals with a chronic illness.

Specialist clinics offered at the hospital include general and vascular surgery, orthopedics, urology, opthamology, neurology, neurosurgery, otolaryngology, gynecology, pulmonology, oncology, and speech pathology.

Area physicians include seven family practice physicians, general and vascular surgeons, and several specialists who hold outpatient clinics at the hospital. Perry County is also well populated with dentists, optometrists, a podiatrist, and chiropractors.

Perry County Emergency Management operates the rescue squad for the county and part of Spencer County and is a state certified paramedic provider with advance life support pre-hospital care. In fact, the Indiana Emergency Medical Services honored the Perry County Emergency Management/Rescue Squad as Provider of The Year in the Certified Rescue Squad division in 1997. The services are housed at the hospital and supported by hospital administration and county funding. The 911 system is operational in the county, and an enhanced computerized mapping system to be linked to the 911 database is near completion.

The county also has several private health and medical service providers that include laboratory services, visiting nurse services and home health care, counseling centers, rehabilitation and physical therapy services, health food stores, vocational training and employment services for disabled adults, family development, elderly care, medical equipment rental providers, support groups and child care. Nursing home care is available at Beverly Healthcare which is currently undergoing major interior renovations.

Nearby major hospitals and clinics also serve Perry County residents including the Owensboro-Mercy Health System in Owensboro, Kentucky; the Welborn Hospital and St. Mary's Medical Center of Evansville; and the Welborn Clinic in Reo.
