Bright Minds
Portage Township Schools continue to rake
in state and national recognition awards for their high academic
standards. Naturally, we emphasize the basics, testing
our students at appropriate intervals to ensure they are grasping the
concepts and applying them to the world around them.
But its our openness to new ideas
and unconventional directions that really expand childrens futures.
For instance, Portage High School offers seniors a dental health careers
program that includes classroom instruction,
entry-level skills in a laboratory or clinical setting, and dental office
experience. Five years after graduation,
70 percent of youth who completed the program were working in the dentistry
field.
