The
newly completed U. S. 24 Hoosier Heartland Corridor Highway now provides
a four-lane link between Wabash County and Fort Wayne (Interstate 69)
east, and west to U.S. 31 at Peru. The highway is finished to Logansport
in the west with eventual construction planned to Lafayette. Wabash County
is also served by State Roads 13, 15, 16, 114 and 124. All county roads
are paved. Wabash County is approximately 45 miles southwest of Fort
Wayne, 150 miles southeast of Chicago, and 85 miles north of Indianapolis.
Small plane and business pilots use the Wabash Municipal Airport for traveling
in and out of Wabash County. The airport features two runways (N-S 1,910
feet and E-W 4,400 feet), pilot-controlled lighting, VASI lights, unicom
frequency 122.8 mhz, and instrument approaches. Telephone the Wabash Municipal

service is available for daily travel within and between the cities and
