

Ankeny offers many choices when it comes to education. There are eight different public elementary schools and the ninth planned for 2012, two buildings housing 6-7 graders, as well as two buildings for 8-9 graders. Ankeny is currently in the process of building two new

Ankeny is also no stranger to higher education. Des Moines Area Community College, with an enrollment of nearly 60,000 in college credit or business training classes, has a 304-acre campus in Ankeny. DMACC offers two-year degrees, transferable college credit and continuing education. Also in Ankeny is Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary, which offers a faith-based education that trains the Christian teachers, pastors and musicians of the future. Simpson College and Upper Iowa University offer centers in Ankeny. New in 2011, Iowa School of Beauty opened a location in Ankeny. The city is also in close proximity to Iowa State University.
