Local physicians, pediatricians and specialists provide excellent care to Ankeny citizens and are affiliated with the hospitals in Des Moines. Mercy Hospital recently added Ankeny to its off-campus surgery and urgent care facilities Iowa Health.
On With Life, a short-term, highly specialized brain injury rehabilitation center, calls Ankeny home. This facility was the dream of a dedicated, passionate group of survivors and their families faced with the challenges of rebuilding and moving “on with life” after brain injuries.
Ankeny houses a vast variety of childcare centers, day cares and after school programs. Ankeny is also home to New Horizons Adult Center and programs through the Neveln Community Resource Center provide for the adult population who need companionship on a daily basis. Local assisted living centers include Mill-Pond Retirement Center, which offers different levels of care, and SunnyView Care Center.
