Greetings from the Mayors

Welcome to Clinton!

Clinton is experiencing an unprecedented surge in economic development opportunities! Whether you are in the field of manufacturing, small business or quality of life venues, you will find new and exciting experiences waiting for you when you choose Clinton as a resident, company or visitor.

Clinton has a connection to the Mississippi River via rail, river, road and air. Those connections have fostered growth in the development of business parks, rail park and manufacturing space. The city is primed for expansion with the resources available to us in the bio-energy field.

With the success of the Wild Rose Casino on the west end of town, the opportunity for additional retail to complement the traditional downtown experience has become a reality.

From preschool through graduate degrees, residents in the Clinton area have access to a wide range of learning opportunities. As a four-year college, Ashford University offers associate, bachelor and master’s degrees, and Clinton Community College prides itself on college transfer programs, career technology options and training and retraining opportunities.

Clinton has successfully completed two programs that are in conjunction with the Department of Economic Development and Department of Cultural Arts. Vision Iowa brought many renewed and revitalized quality of life opportunities with its $3.3 million award. An updated Alliant Energy Field (home to the Class 1A LumberKings), a new splash pond at our swimming pool, a skateboard park for the youth of the city, renovations to the Clinton Area Showboat Theatre and the new waterfront restaurant directly on the Mississippi River are products of vision and enthusiasm. The Iowa Great Places award of $1 million allowed the city to bring a disc golf course and playground equipment to Eagle Point Park. The Sawmill Heritage Museum will tell the story of the impact of the lumber industry on Clinton and the area.

Join us as we move Clinton into a new area of growth and development. We are proud of our past and look forward to our very prosperous and exciting future.
