

From preschool through graduate degrees, residents in the Clinton area have access to a wide range of learning opportunities at local education institutions. Citizens of Clinton, Camanche and Fulton place great emphasis on education, with outstanding results. Student reading and math achievement is consistently above the national average; high school students annually outscore the national and state averages on the ACT college entrance exam by a substantial amount. Nearly 80 percent of area high school graduates continue their education.
The Clinton Community School District serves an approximate student population of 4,200 (pre-kindergarten through 12th grade). The district operates eight instructional buildings — including four elementary schools, two middle schools, a high school and an alternative high school, as well as a transportation facility and a plant services maintenance department.

Camanche Community School District is spread out over a large portion of Camanche. The elementary school (K-4) is located in the northeastern part of town, and the middle school (grades 5-8) and high school (grades 9-12) are located about one-mile southwest of the elementary school.
River Bend Community Unit District 2 schools are known as the “Home of the Steamers.” The district operates River Bend Blended Preschool, Fulton Elementary School, River Bend Middle School and Fulton High School.
Several private school options can be found in the area. Located in Clinton, Iowa Prince of Peace Academy and College Preparatory and Prince of Peace Early Learning Center offers Catholic education for preschool through 12th grade students.

Prince of Peace offers small class sizes and provides individual attention to each student. New in 2008-2009 is an after school program, which will provide students with after school care that will provide both fun and learning activities for students. Unity Christian School in Fulton provides the best in an accredited, independent board-governed, college prep education, as well as exciting, year-round child services in day care, preschool and after-school care. Unity Christian School was established over 80 years ago by parents who believed biblical values must be used in every aspect of classroom instruction and discipline.
Our community is also home to a variety of college options. Clinton Community College, part of the Eastern Iowa Community College District, is a comprehensive community college that offers a variety of college transfer programs, career technology programs, courses for high school completion and literacy, and training and retraining programs.

The college has an annual enrollment of 1,600 students, with an additional 13,000 people served through the continuing education programs. Transfer agreements make it possible to start a college career close to home and easily transfer to a four-year college or university.
Ashford University is a coeducational institution located in Clinton, Iowa where students can choose from more than 25 undergraduate programs or two graduate programs, including a Master of Business Administration (MBA). The adult accelerated program, ASPIRE, offers evening courses one night a week for working adults to earn a bachelor’s or master’s degree. Outside of class, students can choose from a wide range of social and recreational organizations and activities, including 13 varsity sports. In addition to classes at its Clinton campus, Ashford offers online courses for true educational convenience.
