Exciting! That is the way to best describe the opportunities that you will find when you come to our community. Whether you are raising a family, seeking employment or here to enjoy our many “Things to do…With a River View,” the Clinton area is a wonderful place to be.
While our historical ties are strong, our new opportunities will be the catalyst for growth and development for years to come. The communities of Clinton, Camanche and Fulton are positioned for dramatic development as result of our investment and approach to new jobs and quality of life venues.
Millions of dollars in public and private sector investments have been made to create a hub of opportunity around our ability to transport goods and services by water, rail, road and air. The possibilities are endless.
New schools have been built so that our youth have the best opportunity to grow in knowledge. Older buildings have been restored to maintain the character of our historic shopping areas. Two State of Iowa awards, Vision Iowa and Iowa Great Places, have focused on bringing many attractions to our parks and riverfront that add to our quality of life.
Continued expansion and relocation of industries creates additional jobs as companies make major capital investments in their facilities. A new “corridor of adventure” has recently opened with expansion of the Wild Rose Casino and Resort to a land-based facility. That move will provide an area for additional retail base, complimenting those long-term retailers who have been the pillar of our communities. Residential housing is being expanded and developed to meet the needs of our ever-changing communities.
The Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce proudly represents over 560 businesses with nearly 17,000 employees. As the local advocate for business, the Chamber is involved in programs and activities that are broader in scope than any other single business, industry or government entity. Our comprehensive program of work is comprised of activities and programs that positively impact our member businesses and maintain our close working relationship with local, state and federal government officials.
