Greetings from Council Bluffs and the Council Bluffs Area Chamber of Commerce. As we enter the new millennium, Council Bluffs and the Council Bluffs Area Chamber of Commerce are poised for continued growth. Building on our successes of the past several years and our proud history, we have set the course for continued growth and development through the implementation of the CB 21 Strategic Plan. We are beginning to see the results of planned growth and development as many new and exciting projects become reality, and old problems become new opportunities.

The Council Bluffs Area Chamber of Commerce has played a key role in moving Council Bluffs forward. Its full-time staff, board of directors and hundreds of volunteers are the force behind identifying needs, developing solutions and implementing plans to make Council Bluffs a better place to live, work and play.

As an advocate for business and the impetus for economic development, the Chamber has been instrumental in forming partnerships and alliances with city, county and state governmental entities, as well as private industry, to accomplish major projects that have and will continue to change the face of Council Bluffs.

Recent and continuing acquisition and demolition of blighted properties, business expansion, involvement in major community projects, our new image campaign, an active and aggressive marketing program for conventions and tourism and ongoing housing development will continue to move Council Bluffs forward. Our pride in our community and the explosion of new projects, business expansions and quality-of-life improvements will continue to prove Council Bluffs is a leader for growth in the state of Iowa.

This directory is a tribute to the business, government and civic leaders who have placed their confidence and trust in the Chamber to continue the progress of the past and focus on the future. These members are the backbone of our community and the secret to our success. We encourage you to visit them often and do business with them whenever possible.
