The council employs a full-time professional administrator responsible for implementing council directives and managing the day-to-day operations of city government.
The Davenport Police Department, made up of more than 220 dedicated men and women, includes 161 sworn officers. The Davenport Fire Department, comprises 139 uniformed personnel, a medical director, an emergency medical services coordinator and two civilian secretaries.
