Springbrook Country Club and golf course is a lovely place to visit and boasts one of the most beautiful and challenging 18-hole golf courses in Iowa, known for its rolling hills, tree-lined fairways and tricky greens. Springbrook is a private club stretching out across the northern portion of DeWitt, where golf and social memberships are offered.

The City of DeWitt Parks & Recreation Department supplies a wide range of programs for children and adults and also offers many parks and outdoor activities. Westbrook Park is DeWitt’s largest park at 100 acres. It includes five picnic shelters, four baseball/softball diamonds, soccer field complex, two playground equipment areas, three sets of restrooms, 18-hole disc golf course and the Paul Skeffington Memorial Trail. The trail is 10 feet wide and covers over five miles ideal for walking, running and riding bikes.

Lincoln Park is 2.1 acres right in the heart of the city. Amenities include large handicapped accessible playgrounds for all ages of children, picnic tables and public restrooms. The newly constructed Hausbarn is located in Lincoln Park as is the DeWitt Community Center, a facility that serves as headquarters of many events and service organizations. There are over 60 service and social clubs active in the DeWitt area. (A complete listing is available from The Chamber Office.)

Ashindel Park is a 3.5-acre park and includes some natural areas with flowers and trees and a relaxing sitting area. There is an outdoor full-size basketball court and a walking and fitness trail. The park is also home to the DeWitt Fitness Center, which offers many amenities such as an indoor swimming pool for lap swimming, sauna, hot tub, racquetball court, two weight rooms, cardio room and jogging track. Personal training and many group class options are available. A 24-hour Snap Fitness facility is also available for working out anytime of the day or night with secure pass-key entry.

Little Trees Park has been used by the City of DeWitt since the mid 1940s. The park includes a baseball/softball diamond, restrooms, concession stand and parking for spectators.

Paarmann Park includes a picnic shelter and tables, playground equipment and a basketball court.

The DeWitt Aquatic Center is a $2.6 million facility consisting of over 11,000 square feet of open water and contains more than 344,000 gallons of water. The aquatic center features zero-depth entry, three slides, lily pads, basketball hoop and much more. Swim lessons are also available in group or private formats.

The Frances Banta Waggoner Community Library is a beautiful facility, featuring thousands of volumes of books, newspapers, periodicals, video and music tapes, and a large, active children’s section.

DeWitt Lanes is an eight-lane bowling facility with a full schedule of league activities.

An inviting aspect of DeWitt’s rural location is the quiet country roads making up a network of biking and jogging trails. The smooth surfaces stretch for miles, which enable DeWitt to host events such as the Paul Skeffington Memorial Race and the Crossroads Triathlon. Just East of DeWitt you will find Lake Malone for outdoor swimming and Lake Kildeer for great fishing, including ice fishing. The Wapsipinicon River, five miles south of DeWitt, is known for canoeing and fishing. Bass, catfish and walleye are the primary game fish in our area. The Mississippi River is only 18 miles away with many opportunities for water skiing, boating, fishing, riverboat rides, dinner cruises and casinos.

Dancing lessons for both adults and youth are available. For adults, Scheckel & Company will keep you dancing with steps in swing, ballroom and Latin dance instruction. As for the children, they can learn many different types of dance at Rhythm Avenue Performance Academy.
