Central Community School District
Education in the Central Community School District of Clinton County is built on a tradition of excellence, where expectations are high and learning is a life-long endeavor. Working together, the school staff and the communities of DeWitt, Grand Mound, Low Moor and Welton form a school district with the mission of “providing a caring environment that will enable individuals to reach their fullest potential through an interactive partnership of home, school and diversified communities focused on the common goal of providing quality education.”
Central serves approximately 1,600 students. Scheduled to be complete in August 2012, the district will be adding a state-of-the-art performing arts and athletics wing onto the high school. This wing will include an 800-seat auditorium, a 1,800-seat competition gym, community gym, wrestling room, music rooms, fitness and weight room, and a new high school office. Another wing that will be added at the high school, which we are particularly proud of, is a new Career & Technical Education wing that will house the Family & Consumer Science, Industrial Technology and nationally recognized Agriculture & FFA programs.

The professional staff includes 135 dedicated, experienced teachers. More than 85 percent of the staff has completed graduate coursework beyond their Bachelor’s degree. All teachers participate in regular, ongoing professional development, which focuses on the best educational practices in order to help each and every one of our students reach their full potential.St. Joseph Catholic School
