Among
the many interesting local attractions are the 6000-acre Brushy Creek
recreation area, and the nationally recognized Blanden Memorial Art Museum.
Visitors can also experience the past at the Fort Museum, where the frontier
spirit comes alive again. Special
events at the Museum include Frontier Days, held the first weekend in
June, Craftman's Weekend, with demonstrations of pioneer arts and skills,
and Buckskinner's Rendevous, where modern day 'mountain men' portray the
lives of early fur traders.
