The people of Fort Dodge have remained dedicated to the continued enrichment of our educational systems. Students are afforded an array of educational and extracurricular opportunities through local public and parochial schools. The Fort Dodge Public School System has an enrollment of 4,300 students in grades K-12. Additionally, 1,154 students are enrolled in the cityís four private school systems.

Fort Dodge is the home of Iowa Central Community College, and Buena Vista University. These facilities offer a variety of four-year degrees, two-year degrees, diplomas, certificates and adult education programs. Fort Dodge is located 45 miles from Iowa State University in Ames, and 85 miles from Drake University in Des Moines.
