Fort Dodge is the home of Trinity Regional Medical Center, a licensed 200-bed private, non-profit facility, serving Fort Dodge and the surrounding communities in an eight-county region. A dedicated regional referral center, Trinity serves a population of approximately 120,000, and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations.

Trinity Regional Medical Center offers a wide range of primary and secondary care services, employs over 875 healthcare professionals, technicians and employees, and boasts a medical staff of over 80 physicians. There are also six nursing homes in Fort Dodge. The largest is Friendship Haven, a continuing care retirement community offering assistance levels ranging from independent living through 24-hour nursing care. The facility serves an average of 450 residents, employs 400, and recently opened a new adult care service which provides daycare for both residents and the community at large.
