The clubhouse provides a perfect setting for lunch or dinner. Spring Lake Golf Course is a Fort Madison treasure tucked away near our scenic Rodeo Park.
Our local marina invites boats of all varieties to enjoy the Mighty Mississippi. Convenient loading ramps, overnight docking facilities, parking, fuel and a popular bar and grill are only a few reasons to stop and enjoy the beautiful vignettes of the river. Lake Cooper (Iowa’s largest lake) covers 30,000 acres, and is known for excellent fishing. This area of the Mississippi River attracts anglers of all ages to its banks.
The local YMCA offers year-round indoor swimming and facilities to meet your fitness needs. Further opportunities for swimming can be found at the Fort Madison Municipal Swimming Pool, located adjacent to the Fort Madison Senior High School.
Old Settlers Park has gone through a recent rejuvenation with recreated historic benches and lighting that match the Victorian homes surrounding the park. Central Park is a gathering place for residents and visitors to enjoy the artesian fountain, Sunday evening concerts in the gazebo, and the summer Farmers Markets. Ivanhoe Park and Victory Field have hosted several generations of young baseball and softball players. Our largest park is Rodeo Park, with 183 acres of green space, excellent pedestrian trails, ball fields, and a 36-hole disc golf course. The arena of this lovely park also serves as the site of the annual Tri-State Rodeo (held the first full weekend of September).
