Keokuk, Iowa — home of 12,000 hardworking citizens who enjoy getting "CAUGHT DOING GOOD". Named after Chief Keokuk, leader of the Sac Indians, Keokuk enjoys a long rich history, directly connected to the granddaddy of all the American rivers, the mighty Mississippi.

Located at the confluence of the Des Moines and Mississippi Rivers, the citizens of Keokuk are a very proud bunch, dedicated to traditional and successful Midwestern values with a "can do" spirit.

We are extremely proud that Chief Keokuk’s historically documented attributes mirror our city’s image. Chief Keokuk was known to always put "his best foot forward," continually played the genial host of perfection and insisted on projecting the new ways of accomplishing results; it is only fitting that his namesake, the City of Keokuk, is known in similar fashion.
