The modern Cardiovascular Cath Lab at MMSC has been an important addition to hospital operations, as it provides the most sophisticated technology and practices in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. The cardiologists staffed in the department come from the Iowa Heart Center—the state’s leading source for cardiovascular care. MCFARLAND CLINIC PC

One of the state’s first clinics of its kind, McFarland Clinic PC has grown to become the largest physician-owned multispecialty group practice in Iowa today. Wolfe Clinic

Iowa River Hospice Home

Iowa River Hospice, a community-based hospice organization, is in the process of building the Hospice Home, a $2.1 million facility offering a home-like atmosphere for terminally ill patients, regardless of illness. Hospice Home anticipates serving at least 30 patients a month, 360 patients a year, along with approximately 1,000 family members annually. The six-bed home will serve as an affordable alternative for patients, as it is one-third of the cost of a traditional medical setting, and is expected to be completed in 2009.
