The Mahaska County Hospital, established in 1907, is committed to high quality, accessible, cost-effective patient care. The hospital offers comprehensive healthcare with state-of-the-art technology. Recently, a $6 million construction/renovation project was completed, offering a broader range of outpatient services.

Along with traditional nursing care, the hospital offers the following programs: back/spine, cardiology, cosmetic/plastic/reconstructive surgery, ear/nose/throat, neurology, ophthalmology, vascular surgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, and urology. The hospital also offers rehabilitation services through cardiac rehab phase II, respiratory therapy, speech therapy, and occupational/ physical therapy. Radiology offers 24-hour services in a variety of diagnostic procedures, including x-ray, mammography, CT Scan, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine.

Additional services include an emergency department and a newly renovated family- centered Birthing Center with private rooms. A registered dietician is also available.

Mahaska County Hospital is involved in providing more accessible and cost-effective healthcare at the community level through agencies and expanded programs such as Hospice, Public Health/Home Health Care, Agri Health + Safety Network, Occupational Health/Corporate Wellness, and Med-Alert.
