Welcome from the Chamber

Greetings from the Washington, Iowa, Chamber of Commerce! Our organization was established in 1935 “To create a progressive business climate and to promote a high quality of life in the Washington Community.” The Chamber of Commerce is currently over 215 members strong. Thirteen committees, consisting of over 100 volunteers, plan for various annual special events, networking and educational opportunities, tourism, downtown initiatives, along with multiple options for business exposure. The active cast of committee volunteers helps make Washington a great place to live and do business.

The Chamber of Commerce staff is made up of two individuals who report to a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is made up of a diverse group of individuals who represent a cross sector of the total membership. They provide leadership and guidance as Washington plans for the future.

We hope that whether you are looking at Washington from the perspective of a resident, a business, or a visitor, you will find the information in the Community Profile Book helpful and that you enjoy your stay in a community we are proud to call home.
