Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center (NMRMC) serves over 45,000 people in a five-county area with comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and emergency services. With the region’s largest obstetrical unit, this not-for-profit hospital has attracted an outstanding medical staff that includes specialists in family medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, general surgery, urology, orthopedics and internal medicine. Neosho Memorial is also a teaching facility for area universities and colleges. Aspiring physicians, therapists, technologists and nurses complete clinical rotations in a variety of departments working alongside NMRMC’s experienced staff.

Citizens of the area with developmental disabilities are able to be active, involved residents with support of Tri-Valley Developmental Services. Through an array of services (including residential, employment and transportation), TVDS lives up to its mission of “providing opportunities for persons with disabilities to achieve the quality of community life they seek.” 

Individuals with developmental disabilities are actively involved in professional, civic, community, recreational and social aspects of their community – thanks in large part to the support of TVDS.

Chanute also maintains an office for SKIL, a not-for-profit corporation devoted to meeting the needs of individuals with disabilities and to serving them, their families and the community.
