LCMC offers 24-hour emergency services; acute and intensive care; sports medicine; physical, occupational and speech therapy; outpatient surgery; and a sleep disorder clinic, as well as a renal treatment center and cardiac therapy. The hospital also staffs 14 clinics throughout the county to address general health concerns as well as specialty needs such as neurology and eye care. Each of the clinics maintains schedules for rotating cardiologists, surgeons, urologists, gynecologists and other specialist office visits. Some clinics offer acute beds for patients who need to be admitted to a hospital for a minor illness. Oswego is very fortunate to have the Oswego Health Center which has six beds for acute admissions, a clinic, lab and x-ray department.
The Parsons State Hospital and Training Center also stands ready to bring special care to this segment of the population. As one of three residential treatment centers operated by the State of Kansas, it is certified as an intermediate care facility for the mentally disabled. PSH&TC activities include the Sunbelt Special Rodeo and Special Olympics. PSH&TC is also home to the Kansas University Research and Kansas State University Agriculture research facilities.
